چکیده
Bulk heterojunction (BHJ) composites show improved power conversion efficiencies when optimized in terms of morphology using various film processing methods. A reduced carrier recombination loss an BHJ was characterized previously. However, the driving force that leads to this reduction not clearly understood. In study, we focus on decreased and its nonfullerene acceptor-based PTB7-Th:IEICO-4F composites. We demonstrate shows deactivation sub-nanosecond nongeminate process. The for determined be interchain hole delocalization between polymers. An enhanced observed steady-state photoinduced absorption (PIA) spectroscopy. particular, increased splitting polaron PIA bands noted. Moreover, other state-of-the-art materials, including D18:Y6 with morphologies.

Photovoltaic phenomenon was first observed by E. Becquerel (Becquerel) in 1839. He observed the electric current-lit silver electrode, immersed in the electrolyte. In 1894, taking advantage of the observed photoconductivity phenomenon in amorphous selenium the semiconductor solar cell was developed. The very first silicon p-n junction solar cell was made in 1954, energy conversion efficiency of...
متن کاملVertical phase separation in bulk heterojunction solar cells formed by in situ polymerization of fulleride
Vertical phase separation of the donor and the acceptor in organic bulk heterojunction solar cells is crucial to improve the exciton dissociation and charge transport efficiencies. This is because whilst the exciton diffusion length is limited, the organic film must be thick enough to absorb sufficient light. However, it is still a challenge to control the phase separation of a binary blend in ...

Recently, much effort has been devoted to improve the efficiency of organic photovoltaic solar cells based on blends of donors and acceptors molecules in bulk heterojunction architecture. One of the major losses in organic photovoltaic devices has been recombination of polaron pairs at the donor-acceptor domain interfaces. Here, we present a novel method to suppress polaron pair recombination a...

A series of three novel donor-acceptor systems based on C(3)-malononitrile-substituted phenothiazines was synthesised in good overall yields and their thermal, spectroscopic, and electrochemical properties were characterised. The compounds were prepared through a sequence of Ullmann-coupling, Vilsmeier-Haack formylation and Knoevenagel-condensation, followed by Suzuki-coupling reactions for int...

Bulk heterojunction polymer solar cells (BHJ PSCs) are very promising organic-based devices for low-cost solar energy conversion, compatible with roll-to-roll or general printing methods for mass production. Nevertheless, to date, many issues should still be addressed, one of these being the poor stability in ambient conditions. One elegant way to overcome such an issue is the so-called “invert...
